Goodwood House

The Bossard String Quartet ventured into West Sussex to play for Daniel and Samantha’s wedding at Goodwood House on Saturday. Read about what they played, and an extra special wedding quiz with the bride and groom before their wedding.

We braved the ice and slush to head over to Goodwood House for Daniel and Samantha’s wedding on Saturday. We’d been booked to play for the wedding ceremony and the drinks reception, and we couldn’t wait to get set up in the sumptious grade I listed house.

Ceremony Requests:

Processional : Desree Kissing You Signing of the Register : John Legend All Of Me and Ordinary People Recessional : Mendelssohn Wedding March

We then enjoyed playing throughout the drinks reception. It was a lovely wedding, and fortunately the couple avoided the predicament of having too much snow on the wedding day. By afternoon, it had all melted!

Here’s a little Q&A with Samantha from just before their wedding.

Your Wedding Venue: Goodwood House

Wedding Date: 3rd March 2018

Why did you choose your wedding venue?: The venue took our breath away and was the first venue we saw. We pretty much decided straight away that is was for us. An outstanding venue with so much history and character which we fell in love with.

At what point did you realise you wanted a string quartet?: Straight away!

Pick three words that sum up how you feel about your wedding day:

Excited Emotional Grateful

Why have you chosen your music to walk down the aisle to (if we are playing for this part): I love the song and have done since watching the iconic scene where Romeo met Juliet, the music is so poignant and beautiful and I can’t wait to walk down the aisle to it.

Tell us an interesting story about you as a couple – (i.e. how you met, how you got engaged, funny tale that we should know about): We met at the gym initially and it took a few years for our first date to be agreed, through various social media outlets. After Dans 3rd attempt at asking me out, it happened. He likes to say third time lucky!

Any musical background yourselves?: No unfortunately we leave that to the professionals

Who is your photographer?: Zara Clarke

Who is doing your flowers?: Blossoms of Drayton

Where is your dress from ? : Anya Bridal Couture

If you are having any readings, who is giving them?: Dans Dad, Grahame
