We played at the lovely wedding of Adam and Anessa at the Hotel Du Vin in Winchester. Adam and Annessa live in the USA, but Adam is originally from Winchester and they returned to have their wedding over here.
They’d selected a very carefully crafted list of music for us to play for the wedding. We did some customised arrangements of things we’ve never been asked to play before (or had never even heard of..). Consider us educated in the gaming world of Everquest and Morrowind, as we played the main themes from these two games.
We enjoyed playing as Annessa walked down the aisle, an emotional moment for both the bride and the groom, as we played Pachelbel’s Canon. For the signing of the register we played Clarke’s Trumpet Voluntary (arranged for String Quartet) and Vivaldi’s “Spring”, the first movement.
As the couple left the room we played Mendelssohn’s Wedding March, which was suitably fitting for the occasion.
We then moved out into the courtyard and kicked off with British favourite Downton Abbey. We were told that the American side of the guests had all visited Highclere Castle a few days previously, so it was timely. We worked our way through all of the couple’s requests, and fitted in a few of our selections too for the keen crowd who were playing guess that tune.
All in all a really nice wedding, and big congratulations to Mr and Mrs Light, thank you for booking us!
