We had the pleasure of playing at Dulcie and Patrick’s wedding at Tylney Hall, near Hook in Hampshire this weekend. Tylney is a huge, sprawling historic hotel nestled in the Hampshire countryside. Typical of many former country homes, it has had various guises over the years ; a hospital in WW1, a school for 40 years, and now an exclusive hotel.
Dulcie had booked us to play for the ceremony, and for the drinks reception afterwards. We set up in the very festive ‘Tylney Room’ and admired the large Christmas Tree and its twinkly lights. We all agreed that this makes a lovely wintery Christmas wedding venue as it looked very cozy.
We played Pachelbel’s Canon as Dulcie walked down the aisle, Elbow’s One Day Like this & Handel Queen of Sheba for the signing of the register. Then we played (optimistically) The Beatles Here Comes The Sun. There was no sun to be seen however…
We then set up in front of the fire (watch out for that viola) and played for the drinks reception. We mixed in some Christmas tunes as requested by the bride and groom. It was a very festive wedding!
Thank you for booking us!
